About Us
Open House was founded in February 2012 by two mothers who both experienced severe postnatal depression in early 2010 which required inpatient treatment on the Margaret Oates Mother & Baby Unit in Nottingham.
We run two drop-in peer support groups for those experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, or any other mental health / emotional difficulties during the antenatal or postnatal periods.

About Our Groups
The atmosphere at both groups is friendly, welcoming & non-judgemental. They provide a safe space for mums to discuss how they are truly feeling.
- No booking required.
- Our groups are for parents to attend with or without their children.
- Refreshments & biscuits are provided, but we do ask for a donation towards this.
We hope that the work we do will reduce the stigma attached to pre & postnatal depression, reduce the isolation that sufferers may be experiencing and increase their self-esteem.
Open House has a closed Facebook group which can be found by searching Open House Nottingham Closed Group. The group members have all had experiences of maternal mental health difficulties and can offer peer support to others.
We are often able to signpost to other sources of support.
Please note Open House Nottingham is run by volunteers who are not trained health care professionals.
